Rugged thermometer with 12:1 distance to target ratio

Extech's new high temperature InfraRed (IR) Thermometer, Model 42540, measures from -58 to 1400°F (-50 to 760°C) with 0.1° resolution. A built-in laser pointer identifies the area to be measured. The 12:1 distance to target ratio is normally available only in higher priced thermometers and allows the thermometer to measure smaller surface areas at a greater distance. The large LCD is backlit so that readings can be taken at night or in areas with low light levels. Automatic Data Hold freezes the display and there are audible and visible overrange indicators. Fixed emissivity (0.95) covers 90% of the surface temperature applications. The thermometer is easily carried around and always handy for a quick and easy temperature checks.
