Non-contact InfraRed Thermometer with laser pointer measures to 518°F
Extech announces the introduction of its newest InfraRed (IR) Thermometer, Model IR201, priced at only $69. It is small and light weight (2.7oz), easily carried around in a pocket, and always handy for a quick temperature check. Even with its compact size, it has a laser pointer to help target the area to be measured.
Model IR201 measures a wide range of surface temperatures from -58 to 518°F (-50 to 270°C) with 1° resolution. Not only is it ideal for checking "hot spots" in electrical panels, production machinery, auto radiators, HVAC equipment, and grills .but the lower ranges allow it to be used for monitoring chillers, freezers, cold rooms, ice cream machines, and igloos. The narrow field of view, measures a 1" target at 6" distance. This helps to assure that readings are due solely to the target and not the surrounding environment. Fixed emissivity (0.95) covers 90% of the surface temperature applications. Features include Data Hold, Max Hold, visual overrange indication. Model IR101 is convenient to carry and use and provides fast, safe, and accurate measurements even when the object is hard to reach.
