Infrared Thermometer has built-in aim light for alignment.

Press Release Summary:

Single wavelength PRO 50 series non-contact temperature measuring system has temperature monitoring limits of 150 to 4500°F. It consists of one sensor with fiber optic front end and remote ¼ DIN display. Fiber optic cable is available in lengths from 3 to 30 ft, and offers heavy-duty protection against ambient exposures to 400°F. It survives harsh environments with dirt, smoke, water, and oils, and is immune to induction fields (EMI).

Original Press Release:

Fiber Optic Infrared Thermometer

The new single wavelength PRO 50 series is a non-contact temperature measuring system with fiber optics that is used for in accessible targets and hostile environments. The temperature monitoring limits of this system are 150-4500F (65-2500C). The PRO 50 consists of a sensor with the fiber optic front end and a remote ¼ DIN display.

The sensor uses a small fiber optic cable that consists of a bundle infrared fibers in a sealed stainless steel sheathing to view the target while the sensor is mounted in a remote or more convenient location. Fiber optic cable lengths can vary from 3 to 30 feet (1-9m). In addition the fiber optic design provides heavy duty protection against ambient exposures up to 400F (200C), will survive very harsh environments of dirt, smoke, water and oils, is immune to induction fields (EMI), and has built in aim light for precise and easy alignment.

This system is used in very diverse applications:

1.low temperature wire monitoring with small spot optics and aim light for alignment,

2.induction heating to simplify the installation and remote the electronics from the EMI,

3.glass forehearths and melters where ambient temperature is excessive,

4.targets in vacuum chambers using a vacuum bushing for accessibility,

5.microwave heating, and

6. thermal and chemical reactors to remote the electronic sensor from excessive heat exposure.

The PRO 50 series has a calibration accuracy of 0.25% of reading, repeatability of 1C, response time of 100ms, and a variety of field of view (optical) configurations. It is available as a stand alone sensor for direct compute interface or as a system with remote ¼ DIN display that includes output options of 4-20mA, 0-20mA, and RS232 and RS485. Accessories include heavy duty ArmorGuard sheathing, braided stainless steel sheathing, light pipe end probes, small spot optics (0.060 inch dia.), right angle mirror assemblies, and a variety of fiber optic mounting flanges and bracket.
