Inertial Measurement Unit Accurately Tracks Bodies in Motion



(Jamestown , NC, USA) Techmor has released the IM-1, a next-generation Inertial Measurement Unit. The Techmor IM-1 sensor features a precision MEMS core containing (3) accelerometers, and (3) gyro sensors to measure movements and rotations in all directions.

The IM-1 delivers unprecedented performance and reliability. The new device is factory calibrated, and features excellent bias stability, precise axis orthogonality, and temperature compensation from -40C to 85C.

The 3rd-generation design offers the best value, to date, in accuracy, resistance to shock, bias stability, and size. The angular rate gyro precision is 0.05 degree/s, and the accelerometer precision is 0.003 g.

The IM-1 is ideal for use in applications that require a high degree of accuracy in a harsh environment, such as race vehicle dynamic measurement, autonomous vehicle guidance and GPS augmentation.

A CAN bus output, at up to 1Mbit/s rate, provides simple wiring and high-speed performance. In addition, an RS232 serial output is available.
