Baldor Announces New Adjustable Speed Control
Baldor Electric Company, Fort Smith, Arkansas based manufacturer of energy saving industrial electric motors, drives and generators, announces a new family of adjustable speed controls, the H2. It is extremely reliable, is very easy to use and delivers exceptional performance.
"The most reliable industrial drives you can buy today," are words used by John McFarland, Baldor's Chairman and CEO, to describe the new H2 Drives from Baldor. And John should know! John's insight and vision provided the direction for the engineers who have been developing the new H2 adjustable speed drive family. Fully tested during the design phase and verified at each step in the manufacturing process, Baldor H2 drives are the most reliable industrial drives available anywhere. Combinations of in-circuit testing, functional testing of each sub assembly, and full-load testing of the final product ensures product integrity and value.
Ease of use is enhanced beyond the previous "Harmonized" drives. A larger graphical display has been added to the standard keypad to increase the functionality of the operator control. In addition to multiple lines of display, selectable text sizes, and Baldor's familiar programming style, the new keypad offers more keys and faster navigation with directional arrows and enhanced soft programming keys. Extensive diagnostic information is available with new "error logging" and "help text" features. Point and click operation is available from a desktop PC using either the supplied H2 "Workbench®" application program or from any desktop in the world with connection to the "Ethernet Server" expansion board. Setup of the new H2 is as easy as surfing the web.
High performance applications are made easier when using the Volts/Hertz Inverter, Encoderless Vector, Closed Loop Vector or AC Servo motor control selections. Expansion of the inputs and outputs can be field installed using up to two of the numerous available expansion boards. Several bus communications boards are available for popular PLCs, including "DeviceNet," "Profibus," and "Lonworks," in addition to the new "Ethernet Server" board and "Mint®" expansion board. Designed for positioning applications and special programming, the "Mint®" expansion board offers stand-alone and coordinated motion operations while providing flexibility in overall machine control.
Reliability, Ease of Use and High Performance are important reasons the new H2 industrial drives will provide the extra value customers have come to expect from Baldor.
