Indra's Technology at the Service of the National Transplant Organization (ONT)

o After developing in 2010 the integrated system for donation and transplantation of the ONT, Indra undertakes the maintenance and integration of the organisation's main systems to enhance performance

o Indra becomes ONT's preferred partner to export the Spanish donation and transplant model, already considered a benchmark worldwide

The National Transplant organisation (ONT) chose Indra, the premier IT company in Spain and a leading IT multinational in Europe, to optimize the performance of its information systems by facilitating resource control and enhancing management efficiency. The IT multinational will undertake the maintenance of the applications of the ONT's most important systems: SIUL, an integrated donation and transplantation system also developed by the company; SURUS, a transplant registration and followup application; and finally BIOTCEL, a system for management, cell and tissue treatment for transplants.

The project has an execution period of three years which could be extended to other three and includes maintenance and support services at various levels, for instance, corrective tasks, preventive applications, adaptive methodologies, system upgrades, user training, document maintenance as well as consultations and telephone customer service.

Within the technical field, Indra will also reconstruct the SIUL system with SOA architecture to facilitate information exchange regardless of the platform. Besides this the company will integrate the three information systems (SIUL, SURUS and BIOTCEL) so that the information flows among them in compliance with ONT requirements with the objective of improving the company's performance and results.

This way Indra reaffirms its relationship with ONT, which started in May 2010 with the development of the SIUL system, and becomes preferred partner of the organisation, in line with the organisation's intention of extending the Spanish donation and transplantation model. This model was adopted by the European Union when Spain took over EU Council Presidency (January-June 2010). The implementation of the Spanish transplantation model, a worldwide benchmark, in 27 member states will facilitate access to this type of therapy to 500 European citizens.

In the international arena, Indra is working in a pilot to implement the electronic medical record in Brazil, beside shaving developed other initiatives of great interest in the healthcare sector such as the definition of a new public health model for Tunisia or the management of Favaloro Foundation's information systems, one of Argentina's most important cardiovascular centers. Moreover, Bahrain's Ministry of Health and Defense recently awarded Indra the development and global operation of its healthcare system network applications, including hospitals and health centers.
