Austin, TX - March 20, 2006 - InduSoft's Import Tool for PanelMate automatically converts legacy PanelMate HMI screens into InduSoft Web Studio format, thus allowing end users and machine builders to replace their legacy PanelMate products, saving maintenance cost and obsolesce. The converted application can run on all supported Microsoft operating systems.
The Import Tool for PanelMate® Plus converts an existing PanelMate display and all its data into an HMI screen in Indusoft Web Studio or CEView HMI/SCADA format.
InduSoft's new PanelMate Import Tool makes it easy for a user to replace legacy PanelMate operator panels without losing any of the engineering, programming or configuration efforts that went into the original system development years ago. The Import Tool works with PanelMate systems from IDT/Cutler-Hammer (now Eaton Electrical), and compatible products sold under license by Schneider Electric.
The Import Tool automatically converts the HMI screens, objects, dynamics, alarm logic and communication interface from the existing application, allowing the application to run on any Microsoft Windows compatible hardware platform. The total Import process takes just a few minutes to complete.
Once the Import process is complete, the user can simply run the application on modern hardware or can enhance the application by using the power of InduSoft Web Studio. Areas of potential enhancement include:
· Advanced Alarming, Trending and Event Management (real-time & historical)
· Logging to internal or external databases, plus redundant database support
· Flexible Report Generation and Event Scheduling
· Advanced security including support for 21 CFR Part 11
· Support for Web Thin Clients (wired or wireless)
· Support for VBScript (including for Windows CE)
· Ability to add 3rd party Active X controls
· Communication to wide variety of devices, including OPC Clients & Servers
In addition, PanelMate-style objects are available in InduSoft Web Studio's symbol library. This lets the user add additional objects to the application yet keep the same look and feel without having to return to the legacy development software.
The Indusoft Web Studio PanelMate Import Tool is licensed separately from Indusoft Web Studio. It works in conjunction with the current Indusoft Web Studio Version 6.1 development software, and may be purchased with the development software or at a later time.
InduSoft Web Studio supports virtually all of the most popular industrial tools, standards and protocols, including .NET, OPC (Client & Server), ADO.NET, XML, SOAP, ActiveX, and FDA 21 CFR Part 11. More than 200 communication drivers are available for communication with PLCs, DCS's and other devices.
