IFM's IO-Link Network Prepares Automotive Plant for Industry 4.0

Iveco, was founded in 1975, and is a well-known international manufacturer of light, medium and heavy commercial vehicles, in Turin, Italy. Focused on continuous improvement and increased efficiency, Iveco implemented a condition-based maintenance plan within its core transporter production line. In addition, using IO-Link sensors, compressed air, flow and temperature values are measured. The measured values are transmitted digitally from the sensors to the controller via IO-Link master blocks. IO-Link's Smart Observer software displays this data, and the system sends early warning alerts or alarms via email. Iveco is ideally prepared for Industry 4.0.
