Identity Finder Helps Corporations Prevent Confidential Data Loss

NEW YORK, May 8 // -- Identity Finder(TM), the leading technology used for finding and protecting confidential information, has expanded its product line to include Business, Server, and Enterprise Editions. Aimed at corporations concerned with preventing sensitive data leakage, these editions can be used centrally or deployed across an organization to search for personally identifiable information (PII) on servers and desktops.
Since 2005, over 154 million records containing private information of U.S. residents have been inadvertently exposed by companies through security breaches, laptop loss, and accidental transmission. While protecting the confidentiality of private information for customers, employees, and business partners is a sound business practice, increasingly it is also a legal responsibility. To date, more than thirty states have passed data loss laws requiring companies to notify individuals of PII leakage.
These laws were created to protect individuals because only small amounts of stolen personal information are required to commit identity theft. Identity Finder Enterprise Edition is the most powerful corporate version and allows searching across all servers, network drives, and workstation endpoints. It comprehensively searches computers using proprietary search algorithms to automatically locate sensitive data regardless of format and syntax. After finding unsecured, nonpublic information that could lead to identity theft or fraud, Identity Finder can generate reports for auditing and remediation or immediately secure the results with encryption or through permanent deletion. Administrators can also configure Identity Finder to automatically run periodically and store all encrypted reports in a secure, centralized location.
