New Features of M-Business Anywhere 6.0
o New Localization Support, Asian Language Support -- M-Business Anywhere now supports double-byte content and applications and has localized clients for Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. Supported device platforms are Windows XP and Windows Mobile 2003. M-Business Anywhere currently has existing localized clients for English, French, Italian, Spanish and German.
o Web Services Provides Enhanced Customization Options -- With M-Business Anywhere's new SOAP API, third party software developers can easily embed M-Business Anywhere in their solution and quickly offer mobile extensions to their applications to the market. This Web Services integration allows companies to re-brand the M-Business Anywhere management console, or build their own management console, creating completely customized interfaces. The SOAP API also gives the ability to use a single management console to manage mobile and desktop applications.
o Improved Management
o Remote Client Upgrades -- M-Business Anywhere clients can now be upgraded automatically by administrators. A key feature for managing large deployments and distributed environments, this allows administrators to specify different upgrade rules for different platforms and connection types. Administrators also have the option to force upgrades or allow users to defer until a later sync.
o New Admin UI - A new "tree-based" user interface is designed to significantly simplify management of the M-Business Anywhere server, users, groups and channels and is built using a new SOAP API.
o Improved Performance and Security
o On-Device Content Password Protection -- Companies can now require users to enter their passwords when entering the M-Business Anywhere applications, rather than resorting to third party software to password-protect the entire device or leaving valuable data unprotected.
o Server Caching -- Three server caching options allow IT managers to optimize caching for various platforms, application profiles and content types. This feature improves the number of simultaneous syncs that a given server can support and improves overall sync times for end-users.
o XML Incremental Sync -- Developers deploying XML data can now receive only changes from backend systems. This will minimize network traffic between the M-Business Anywhere server and backend servers and improve end-user sync time performance.
