I/P Transmitter uses natural gas as pneumatic supply.

Press Release Summary:

Model IPX2 current-to-pressure transmitter is CSA approved to be used with sweet natural gas consisting of up to 20 ppm of H2S. Approvals allow installation in explosion-proof hazardous areas. Loop-powered unit accepts current signal from DCS-, PLC-, or PC-based control system and converts it to 22 available pneumatic signals proportional to input. It is rated to operate in ambient conditions from -40 to +176°F and offers accuracy of ±0.25% of span.

First I/P Transmitter CSA-Approved to Use Natural Gas as Pneumatic Supply in Hazardous and Remote Site Applications

NORTH HILLS, CALIF.--Moore Industries' new model IPX2 is the first current-to-pressure transmitter approved to be used with natural gas as its pneumatic supply. This allows the IPX2 to be installed at gas gathering stations, compressor stations, pipeline feed applications, and booster stations where it is impractical or impossible to supply instrument air for pneumatic valve actuation.

The IPX2 is now CSA (Canadian Standards Association) approved to be used with sweet natural gas consisting of up to 20ppm of H2S. The approvals allow installation in explosion-proof hazardous areas (Class I, II & III, Division I, Groups A-G). It is also CSA approved for intrinsically safe applications, with a NEMA 4X
environmental protection rating.

Loop-powered, the IPX2 accepts a current signal (such as 4-20mA) from a DCS, PLC or PC-based control system. It converts the current signal to 22 available pneumatic signals proportional to the input (3-15psig, 0.2-1 Bar, 20-100kPa, etc.).

The IPX2 is offered in a rugged field-mount metal enclosure that stands up to installation in harsh field conditions. In addition to natural gas, available models handle standard instrument air supplies. For installation in harsh weather conditions, it is rated to operate in very low, and very high, ambient conditions between -40°C to +80°C (-40°F to +176°F). The IPX2 delivers accuracy of ±0.25% of span; high air capacity of 5.0SCFM; and offers excellent immunity to the harmful effects of RFI/EMI and vibration.
