Original Press Release:

Stand Alone IP67 I/O Simplifies Network and I/O Wiring Connections

Harrisburg, PA - Fieldline is Phoenix Contact's latest innovation in the area of machine mountable I/O solutions. With an IP67 environmental rating, this new family of I/O modules can be implemented on a number of fieldbus protocols including DeviceNet, CANopen, INTERBUS and Profibus DP.

Fieldline modules have been designed with the latest installation technologies and support several mounting options. This ensures that the modules can be installed to meet the demands of the application and simplify network and I/O cabling, reducing installation costs and shortening machine and system downtimes.

Integrated diagnostics provide local indication of bus error states and I/O device status. Bus specific parameters, i.e. address and baud rate, are set external to the module with a standard screwdriver. This provides for a fast and easy configuration compared to conventional solutions.

Sensor/Actuator devices and network cabling are connected to I/O modules through industry standard M12 connectors. Unique network connections eliminate the need for network specific accessories and enhance the reliability of network performance.
