Knuth USA Hydraulic Swing-Beam Shears Utilize CNC Controls for Productive, Cost-Effective Performance
WHEELING, ILLINOIS-September 2004-Knuth USA KHT3206C hydraulic swing-beam shears feature CNC control operated through a 5.7-inch LCD touch screen display. Once operators enter parameters such as work-piece length, width and thickness using the touch screen, the KHT3206C automatically adjusts machining settings, including blade gap adjustment, back gauge setting, length of stroke and number of cuts. The result is highly efficient production of precisely-cut blanks with clean, square edges and minimal bow twist or camber.
For faster stroke rates (to accommodate smaller blanks) the operator simply adjusts stroke length on the screen, and the beam cycles at a faster rate. The screen also allows faster positioning of the heavy-duty back gauge and accurate adjustment of the blade gap. Up to 10 job steps can be stored on the controller.
The efficient, precise operation of the KHT3206C results from a simple, practical design that matches an upper swing beam blade with a rigid frame and constant rake angle.
