Original Press Release:

Beckwood Press Company to Unveil New Hybrid Servo Motion Press

Beckwood Press Company further expands its wide variety of presses to include its new Accu-Flex servo controlled hybrid press. The Accu-Flex is designed to give users unlimited flexibility with precision performance for both position and force control. Utilizing servo-motion control, these presses are available with the tonnage capacity of 5-150 tons. The presses are priced less than competitive Servo-Hydraulic or Servo-Mechanical presses.

The Accu-Flex is equipped with 5 base motion profiles, each with the ability to infinitely adjust to the end users requirements. These base profiles include: Blanking, Coining/Forging and Embossing, Knuckle, Draw and Draw with Dwell. All cycle parameters (such as speed, stroke, shut height, and force) are programmed and infinitely adjustable. Programs can be saved and stored in the standard operator interface.

All Accu-Flex programming also includes Go/No-Go options for part quality certification and on the fly part verification. Force or position min-max parameters can be included within the cycle profiles to ensure that parts comply with the manufacturing requirements.

These systems minimize the use of hydraulic components and replace the more expensive hydraulic servo valves with servo motion control devices. The result is a more simplified press with significantly more performance.

The Accu-Flex press includes precision ram position and pressure control operated by a closed loop servo system that utilizes inputs from high resolution linear and pressure transducers. The new press is able to save Beckwood's customers over 20% when compared to traditional hydraulic presses with the same specifications.
