EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., Oct. 31 /-- Xiotech(R) Corporation today announced the addition of TimeScale(TM) Replication Services to its offering of data storage and data discovery solutions. The hosted services provide organizations the ability to replicate their vital data and then recover data from a secure data center managed by Xiotech's subsidiary Daticon, LLC. The services are designed to be part of an organization's business continuity strategy, improving the security of organizational data, minimizing downtime and making recovery more reliable following data loss and disaster situations.
TimeScale Replication Services are particularly suited for organizations that use traditional tape for data recovery. The full-service offerings replicate an organization's data to a hardened and secure data center. For Microsoft Windows users, data is replicated on a continuous basis, and for Linux users, replication can be scheduled as specific as every 60 seconds. TimeScale Replication Services compress data for bandwidth optimization and support encryption to ensure data security.
TimeScale Replication Services offer two alternatives for restoring data back to the organization's primary data center: First, data can be recovered via a simplified recovery sequence performed by administrators over the network. With the second option, Xiotech can deliver a mobile recovery unit fully populated with the organization's system volumes and data, delivered within three working days. This minimizes the time, effort and expertise required to recover an organization's servers and applications.
"There are many dynamics that make remote site replication to a secondary site more important to the ongoing viability of a business today than ever before," said Senior Analyst Tony Asaro of the Enterprise Strategy Group. "Flood, fire, extreme weather, aging power grids, and even terrorism are harsh realities we must contend with.
