Horizontal Machining Center is driven by 2-step gearhead.

Press Release Summary:

Model HX400 employs rotary-type auto pallet changer and fixed-address ATC that holds 40 tools. Tool change takes 1.3 sec, and balanced spindle structure, supported by rugged box-way design, enables machine to obtain stable accuracy during heavy-duty machining. Features include dual internal screw conveyors, idle station that rotates freely with pin-lock cylinder at 90° increments, and 1° index table that results in index time of 1.9 sec/90°. Options include 60- and 120-tool magazine.

HX 400 Horizontal Machining Center

Designed to reduce both the cutting and non-cutting time, the HX400 is a high speed, short cycle machine driven by a 2 step gear head. The fixed address type ATC hold 40 tools on the magazine as a standard. 60 or 120 tool magazine will be provided as an option. Twin swing doors provide wide access for loading/unloading parts. A tool change takes only 1.3 seconds, and Chip to Chip 3.8 seconds. The rotary type auto pallet changer (APC) provides the fastest changing time in its class. A perfectly balanced spindle structure, which is supported by Rugged Box Way design (All slide ways are heat treated and ground Meehanite with Turcite) for high speed and accuracy as well as a 2 step gear head for high torque at low speed enable the machine to obtain and stable accuracy during high speed and heavy duty machining progress. Big plus spindle is employed for tools of two surface restraint.

Two internal screw conveyors are supplied as a standard. These discharge all chips to an external chip conveyor (front-left discharge on the coolant tank) for delivery away from the machine. The top and front integrated door on the operator side prevents water from dripping while checking. It also keeps the machining area light. The idle station rotates freely with pin-lock cylinder at 90 degree increment. 1 degree index table comes with machine as a standard and results in a fast index time: 1.9 sec/90 degree. A taper corn with 2 restraints provides the highest clamping force in its class. 3 air chambers under each corner of the column and 2 air chambers at the side of Gib enable the machine to traverse with high speed of 1,575ipm without friction. This also extends the life time of slide surface.
