Horizontal Machining Center handles hard ferrous materials.

Press Release Summary:

Model FH-SX, available with 550 or 630 mm pallet sizes, utilizes 40 hp, 6,000 rpm spindle and is available with optional 15,000 rpm spindle. With ballscrew and motor on each side of spindle, it exerts double driving force on Y-axis. Included software provides automatic compensation to protect against thermal growth in ballscrew, ensuring integrity of ballscrew is not compromised by internal cooling mechanisms. Table load capacity is 2,860 lb.

Toyoda to Debut New Horizontal Machining Center at Midwest Apex Show, Booth #8012

Arlington Heights, IL - Toyoda Machinery is preparing for the Midwest Apex Show, September 13-15. The booth will showcase the newest machines and latest technology in grinding and horizontal machining. Toyoda will also be introducing the new FH-SX horizontal machining center at the show. The new SX model is designed to provide the cutting power of a boxway machine with 20 percent faster feed rates.

The SX Series machines have a 40 horsepower, 6,000 rpm spindle (with a 15,000 rpm spindle option). The high-performance spindle has double the driving force on the Y axis, with a ballscrew and motor on each side of the spindle. The SX Series software has automatic compensation to protect against thermal growth in the ballscrew. Thus, the integrity of the ballscrew is not compromised by internal cooling mechanisms.

The SX column is redesigned to support the spindle's cutting power, maintain accuracy in hard ferrous materials, and maximize tool life and performance. The new machines are available with 550 mm or 630 mm pallet sizes. The table load capacity is 2,860 lbs.

The Toyoda booth will also showcase its GE4 cylindrical grinder, designed for highly precise automatic grinding of small lots. Its simplified programming makes using the GE4 a smooth transition from operating a hydraulic or manual grinder, while improving part throughput and accuracy. The conversational GC32S control teaches the user to create a program with a step-by-step format. Selection of feeds and speeds is automatic. Minimal data input dramatically reduces set up time, and automatic grinding is possible from the first work piece.
