Hollaender® delivers 5,213 linear ft. of Speed-Rail® to Lock 11, (Mississippi River) Dubuque, Iowa


Hollaender® is in the process of delivering 5,213 linear ft. of Speed-Rail® handrail to Lock 11, located on the Mississippi River in Dubuque, Iowa. This railing is used along the lockwall and guidewall as part of a project to upgrade this 50 year old lock. The US Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, which is responsible for this section of the Mississippi, has specified and used Speed-Rail® consisting of 2 in. IPS anodized finish pipe and fittings, on all of the locks in their area. These range from Lock 2, which is close to St. Paul, to Lock 11, the last lock to be upgraded. Civil Constructors is partially through the installation of the Speed-Rail®, and expects to be completed in 2008.
