GE Energy Upgrades Its Powerlink Advantage HMI Package with Multilanguage Support

ATLANTA, GA. - May 19, 2004 - GE Energy has announced that it has completed an upgrade of its Powerlink Advantage Human Machine Interface (HMI) package with multilanguage support functionality. Additionally, a French language translation has been added to the core product. With multilanguage support, the addition of Western European languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and German can be accomplished within weeks of the request.

The Powerlink Advantage software product provides a means to remotely control and obtain data from Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs). As a local substation HMI, PC-based Small Master Station or for transformer monitoring, Powerlink Advantage version 3 gives operators detailed and timely supervision and control of all substation equipment with clear graphical, alarm and dynamic text displays.

For future releases of the product, GE will be able to integrate new languages into the product to address customer needs based on their specific region requirements. Once support is created for a specific language, it will be added to the core Powerlink Advantage package.
