High Transmission ATR Probe aids mid-IR chemical process analysis.

Press Release Summary:

Compatible with diverse instruments, DPR-212 ATR (Attenuated Total Reflectance) probe has straight, 30 cm long configuration designed to provide optical transmission of over 20%. Selection of interchangeable ATR materials, such as ZnSe, ZnS, AMTIR-1, and Germanium, provides coverage of full mid-IR fingerprint spectral region while allowing selection of optimum material for given chemical system. Use of metallic internal lightguides provides performance stability and long term reliability.

Axiom Analytical Announces a New High Transmission ATR (Attenuated Total Reflectance) Probe for Mid-Infrared Chemical Process Analysis

Tustin, Calif. – Axiom Analytical, Inc., a leading supplier of sampling equipment, software, and integrated systems for all forms of vibrational spectroscopy, today announced the availability of its new DPR-212 ATR probe. The new probe offers similar advantages to the Company’s DPR-210 ATR probe but in a straight, 30 cm long configuration designed to provide optical transmission of over 20 %. The earlier DPR-210 includes a right angle joint which allows it to be inserted vertically into a sample container when mounted in a traditional spectrometer sample compartment. In contrast, the straight DPR-212 is ideal for use with instruments such as the Bruker Alpha or Thermo-Fisher iS Series which allow the probe to point straight down out of the sample compartment. When used with a more traditional instrument, it can be inserted into a sample vessel through a suitable sealing fitting.

In common with the DPR-210, the new probe offers a selection of interchangeable ATR materials, such as ZnSe, ZnS, AMTIR-1, and Germanium. This selection provides coverage of the full mid-IR fingerprint spectral region while allowing the selection of the optimum material for a given chemical system. The use of metallic internal lightguides provides a high degree of performance stability and long term reliability.

About Axiom Analytical, Inc.

Axiom Analytical, Inc. was founded in 1988 by Dr. Mike Doyle and Norm Jennings, pioneers in the field of process FTIR spectroscopy. The Company’s mission is to develop and market the robust sampling equipment, software, and integrated systems required to fully realize the potential of vibrational spectroscopy for solving economically significant problems both in laboratory analysis and manufacturing processes. The Company’s products are employed in diverse industries ranging from basic chemicals to pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and polymer processing. In short, the Company’s products are found wherever process analytical technology (PAT) is being applied. Its hardware products include ATR probes, transmission probes, diffuse reflectance probes, Raman probes, flow cells for gas and liquid analysis, and fiber-optic multiplexers. These cover the full range of molecular analysis including mid-IR, near-IR, UV-visible, and Raman spectroscopy.

Axiom’s hardware products are complemented by the software products of its sister company, Symbion Systems, Inc. These include analytical instrument data acquisition, analysis, control, and deployment as well as chemometrics and hardware implementation for the same markets as served by Axiom.

Axiom’s CEO, Dr. Mike Doyle, was awarded the Williams Wright award for 2014, recognizing his many contributions to the field of industrial molecular spectroscopy.
