Dynamic 3D Measurements with AICON's New TraceCam F High Speed Camera
Braunschweig, 3rd May 2007- Dynamic object measurement is performed in various industries today and is an important element of product development and testing. Often high-speed cameras are used for this purpose. However, regular high-speed cameras have the drawback of a limited recording time. With an increasing measurement frequency (e.g. in case of very fast movements) this capacity even decreases dramatically. With TraceCam F, AICON 3D Systems now offers a new high-speed camera that allows for 3D recording of highly dynamic processes with a practically infinite recording time.
Possible applications for TraceCam F are as different as the measurements that need to be done. The camera can both be applied for motion and position analysis (for example to analyze wheel and engine motion, for door slam testing or to analyze body component vibrations) and in the area of deformation analysis (for example to analyze collision damage or in materials testing).
The TraceCam F measuring system works completely touchlessly. Only very light-weight
measuring targets are needed which eliminates any significant influence on driving behavior. Consequently, the measuring values of TraceCam F are a lot more exact and reliable compared to those of conventional systems. Points are measured to any accuracy of about ±0.1mm (0.004in) and angles to an accuracy of about 0.015° (for a measurement volume of 1.000mm x 1.000mm x 500mm).
TraceCam F can be configured as a one-camera system for measuring positions in all 6
degrees of freedom (6 DOF) or as a stereo or multiple camera system.
At Automotive Testing Expo, AICON shows the TraceCam F measuring system in hall 5 on
