Megger's Loop Testers are Safer for Industry

Enhanced safety in even the most demanding of industrial applications is provided by the latest LT300 high-current loop testers from Megger, which combine a CAT IV 300V rating, as defined by IEC 61010-1, with a three-phase safe design and rugged construction.

The CAT IV rating of the instruments means that they are suitable for use on every part of industrial installations, even close to the source of supply where transient levels are highest. The three-phase safe design protects the instrument against damage, and the user against potential injury, if an attempt is accidentally made to carry out tests on a live circuit.

The LT300 is versatile and easy to use. Suitable for single-phase and phase-to-phase testing, it uses a test current of 30 mA and offers a choice of two loop impedance ranges - 0 to 20 W with a resolution of 0.01 W, and 0 to 200 W with a resolution of 0.1 W. To perform a test, users simply select the required impedance range and press a button. The result is shown almost instantly.

This unique combination of features makes the low-cost LT300 a cost-effective and dependable choice for loop testing in all types of industrial distribution systems where RCDs are not used.

Megger LT300 high-current loop testers are offered in two versions. The LT300-EN-00 is supplied with a standard two-wire lead set for general applications, while the LT300-EN-BS is supplied with a UK mains plug lead set. Both types are supplied with a case and a calibration certificate. Optional accessories include fused lead sets to allow users to comply with internal safety standards.

Developed in close consultation with users, Megger loop testers are easy to hold and use, even under difficult on-site conditions. They have a robust rubber case with a built-in lid to protect the display, ensuring that they are easily able to withstand the rigours of day-to-day use. In addition, the instruments are IP54 ingress protection rated, indicating that they are exceptionally well protected against the entry of dust and water.
