ETTER Engineering Introduces the ENGB Natural Gas Booster

February 8, 2009

CHESHIRE, Conn. - Natural gas booster design has gone unchanged for decades...UNTIL NOW. The ETTER Engineering Company on Monday officially launched their newest product - the ETTER Natural Gas Booster (ENGB), a UL-Listed, hermetically sealed gas booster backed by nearly 70 years experience in the process heat and combustion industries. Although gas boosters have been around for decades, the ENGB was designed with next generation booster technology that specifically addresses the needs of the market in the 21st century.

Engineered with durability, efficiency, and ease of installation in mind, the ENGB offers several innovative features; these include Customizable Outlet Positioning, External Motor Wiring, and a Sliding Tank Housing, all which allow users to make any necessary changes to the booster on-site with ease.

The ENGB's built-in flexibility means unforeseen site-conditions will no longer result in the long delays and cost-overruns associated with sending a booster back to the factory for specification changes. The capability to increase static and/or flow capacities of most models with just a few minor changes is unique within the industry, and is invaluable for users with growing facilities.

Another feature of the ENGB, known as Cool Flow Technology(TM) (CFT), serves to maximize the cooling effects of the gas stream by providing an axial, 360° flow of natural gas focused directly on the motor. CFT allows for higher turndown capabilities for ALL booster sizes, as well as longer, more reliable and more efficient motor operation. In many cases, the technology does away with the need for the more complicated piping and additional costs of a heat exchanger system.

"We felt gas booster technology had been stagnant for some time," says Tom Etter, President of ETTER Engineering, "and there was a great deal of room for improvement. I'm pleased to say we not only met, but actually exceeded the initial goals and performance benchmarks we set out to achieve many years ago with the ENGB."

The ENGB line of boosters consists of four size families. The boosters are capable of volumes in excess of 120,000 ICFH, and static gains in excess of 41" WC.
