Integrated Over-Crank Protection Available on Popular Delco Remy 38MT+ Starter
PENDLETON, Ind., -- Remy International, Inc. (NASDAQ: REMY), manufacturer of Delco Remy® heavy-duty starters and alternators, as well as Remy® light-duty starters and alternators, has announced that their 38MT+(TM) heavy-duty starter is now available with Integrated Over-Crank Protection (IOCP).
"We designed the 38MT+ to give our customers an alternative that was lighter and smaller, yet delivered more power," says Randy Andis, Director of Aftermarket Operations. "This new model with Integrated Over-Crank Protection gives our customers another choice. It's all about providing the perfect starter for the application and use."
Remy introduced the 38MT+ gear reduction starter in January 2015. Designed to fit the Paccar MX 11 and 13-liter engines, the 38MT+ is 4% lighter and cranks 4% faster than the competition - significant improvements given the advanced technology that powers modern rotating electrics. Features include:
--Â Integrated Over Crank Protection (IOCP) is a built-in circuit breaker that protects the starter from thermal damage and automatically resets operating temperature while eliminating the need for a wiring harness.
--Â Integral Magnet Switch (IMS) reduces voltage drop and gives the solenoid maximum available voltage in any starting condition.
--Â Electrical soft-start consistently and accurately engages the pinion with the ring gear, providing increased reliability.
--Â Warranty options include non-IOCP model with 1-year/unlimited miles and IOCP model with 3 years/unlimited miles.
