Watlow's IFC Heated Parts are Ideal for High Process Temperature Applications

St. Louis - Watlow's new IFC (Interference Fit Construction) heated parts are designed to withstand high process temperatures, such as applications that exceed the temperature capabilities of cast aluminum.

"IFC heated parts offer an attractive alternative to milled grove or brazed assemblies, often used when temperature requirements exceed 450°C," explains Chris Baichoo, Watlow general manager. "Because of the intimate contact of the heater, heated parts last longer and have reduced hot spots."

Using IFC, Watlow can customize heated parts into a wide range of shapes and sizes to meet most customer specifications. With FEA (Finite Element Analysis) or an iterative prototyping process, heated parts can achieve superior thermal transfer and temperature uniformity equaling ±1 percent. And because all heated part joints can be welded to assure a vacuum tight seal, they are ideal for applications requiring the highest vacuum process levels.

IFC heated parts are available in a variety of materials, including stainless steel, nickel, Inconel®, aluminum, copper and bronze.
