HDPE Cartridge Filters suit high-purity chemical manufacturing.

Press Release Summary:

Utilizing ePTFE membrane technology, GORE® Filters are available in 3 retention ratings of 0.1 µm, 30 nm, and 20 nm, suitable for high-purity chemicals used in semiconductor and LCD/FPD fabrication. All non-PTFE components utilize high density polyethylene to ensure low organic and metal ion extractables. Filters can operate in high-turnover recirculation filter systems or as final filter in high-throughput chemical filling and packaging systems.

Gore Introduces New Generation of PTFE Membrane Cartridge Filters in HDPE for Manufacturing of High-Purity Chemicals Used In Semiconductor and LCD / FPD Manufacturing at SEMICON Japan

ELKTON, MD, USA, - W. L. Gore & Associates (Gore) is introducing a new generation of PTFE membranes in HDPE cartridge filters, for the manufacture of high-purity chemicals used in semiconductor and LCD / FPD fabrication at SEMICON Japan 2011, Chiba, Japan, December 7-9, in Booth 2B-201.

The new GORE® Filters feature Gore's latest ePTFE (expanded polytetrafluoroethylene) membrane technology that provides unsurpassed combinations of retention and flow performance. All non-PTFE components utilize high density polyethylene (HDPE) to ensure exceptionally low organic and metal ion extractables. The HDPE family of cartridge filters will be available in three retention ratings - 0.1 µm, 30 nm and 20 nm.

The new HDPE family of cartridge filters can be used as drop-in replacements for existing filters to provide 150% up to 400% improvement in flow capability over the best filter technology currently available at the same retention rating. This dramatically increased performance can provide a drop-in retention upgrade while maintaining system flow capacity. At the same retention, this performance can be used to increase process capacity, or decrease the number of filters needed. The filters are ideal for high-turnover recirculation filter systems or as the final filter in high-throughput chemical filling and packaging systems.

Gore's ePTFE filtration media has been used for decades in the world's best-performing filters for semiconductor, electronics, ultrapure water and high-purity chemical applications.

These new GORE® Filters will be featured at SEMICON Japan by Nihon Gore in Booth 2B-201.

About Nihon Gore:

Gore's presence in Japan started in 1974 when Gore formed a joint venture with Japanese electronic products manufacturer Junkosha Inc. The purpose of the joint venture, which was known as Japan Gore-Tex Inc. or JGI, was to utilize and build upon Gore's unique PTFE technology in Japan. In 2009, JGI was acquired by Gore and in April 2011, it adopted the Nihon Gore name.
