Honeywell Expands Hazardous Area Limit Switch Family to Feature a Stainless-Steel Switch

MICRO SWITCH(TM) BX2 Series Delivers Corrosion Resistance and Provides Both Cost and Time Savings to the End User

MINNEAPOLIS - Honeywell's (NYSE: HON) MICRO SWITCH(TM) BX Hazardous Area Limit Switch Series now contains the MICRO SWITCH(TM) BX2 Series, complete with stainless steel, corrosion-resistant housing.

The MICRO SWITCH(TM) BX2 Series' stainless steel housing provides enhanced corrosion resistance in applications exposed to aggressive, caustic agents often found in chemical processing plants, off-shore/near-shore sites, and other hazardous areas.

Honeywell Sensing and Control developed the stainless steel BX2 Series in response to significant customer demand. This new series can provide corrosion resistance up to four times longer than standard housing switches. It can also save up to four-weeks of down time when replacing rusty, unsafe switches.

Explosion-proof and weather sealed, MICRO SWITCH(TM) BX2 Series switches have global ATEX and IEC Ex approvals. These switches can withstand the pressure of an internal explosion and IP67 and NEMA (1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 13) ratings ensure the BX2 can survive in outdoor operations for an extended period of time.

To meet customer requirements for design flexibility, the BX2 Series is available with a broad range of sizes, orientations, actuators, and electrical load options. Potential applications are many, including control valves and actuators, offshore drilling, gas recovery units, petrochemical plants, grain elevators, waste treatment, paint booths, mining conveyors, pulp and paper handling, and hazardous waste handling.
