PLC Features -40° to 80° Operating Range

FREDERICKTOWN, OHIO - Divelbiss Corporation, providing cost-effective customized solutions to standard industrial automation and control problems since 1974, announces the HEC-1000-E-R extended temperature range (-40° to +80° C) model to the HEC family of Harsh Environment Controllers. In addition, the controller is lead free RoHS compliant.

Based on patented* PLC on a ChipT technology, the HEC-1000-E-R Harsh Environment Controller allows for programmable intelligence under less than ideal conditions due to a sealed, water-tight enclosure with plugable connectors. The standard enclosure is submersible to three feet and is screw and sub-plate mountable. The HEC-1000-E-R is programmed using Divelbiss EZ Ladder software which supports ladder diagram with function block programming.

The HEC-1000-E-R Harsh Environment Controller features 8 to 32 VDC input power. I/O includes six (6) 8-32 VDC inputs; two 40 kHz high-speed counters; two 10-bit analog channels rated 0 to 20 ma; and six (6) digital/PWM outputs rated to three amps with automatic over-current safety and programmable status monitoring for each. Network communication is accomplished via the CAN port or by using the optional second serial communication port.

Typical industrial use includes control for engine driven pumps and compressors, mobile asset management and tracking, intelligent mining or oil field equipment, conveyor systems, and marine application. The 8 to 32 VDC input power and wide operating temperature range ( -40° to +80° C ) is particularly useful for ease in utilization by off-highway platforms and outdoor applications where extreme ambient temperatures are the norm.
