Harris Corporation's NetBoss® Network Management System Selected to Support MBO Video Telecommunications Network

MELBOURNE, Fla., Aug. 10 / Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), a leading global provider of turnkey network management systems, wireless equipment and services, today announced that its NetBoss® system has been selected to support the expanding telecommunications network of MBO Video, whose SONET network spans the four-state region of Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri. The Harris NetBoss® system will provide MBO with complete fault management and performance reporting capabilities.

"As a wholesale network provider, 99.995 percent reliability is the undisputed standard, so during the past 10 years we have invested heavily in technology that allows us to offer our customers high reliability and an expanding range of voice, data, DSL and Internet services," said Danny Whittenburg, IS manager, MBO. "After a year-long search, we selected Harris NetBoss® for its flexibility, scalability and ability to give us greater visibility into our network operations. NetBoss® will allow us to proactively monitor and manage any network issues, and will assist in our growth strategy to offer affordable network backbone services and end-to-end solutions to independent local exchange carriers (ILECs)."

The MBO telecommunications network backbone currently is used by three ILECS: Cimarron Telephone, which has served the north-central Oklahoma area for more than 90 years (cim-tel.net); Pottawatomie, which has provided telephone services east of Oklahoma City since the early 1900s (www.potelco.com); and Cross Telephone, which provides a wide variety of telecommunications services to more than 10,000 subscribers in several Oklahoma counties (www.crosstel.net).

In addition to a primary NetBoss® system, MBO also will utilize the NetBoss® Build.IT(TM) module, a graphical scripting tool for creating customer interfaces or modifying existing Harris Smart Agents; the NetBoss® Reporter database application for generating reports; NetBoss® Trouble Reporter, which provides automatic trouble ticketing; and the NetBoss® paging and e-mail applications, which ensure automatic and immediate notification of network problems.

"We are extremely pleased that MBO has selected Harris as its provider of advanced network management solutions," said John Koenig, vice president of the Harris NetBoss business unit. "NetBoss® will help MBO to provide its customers with the highest levels of service and support its network expansion plans going forward."
