LXE Introduces the Versatile, Ultra-Rugged MX5 Pocket PC Handheld



ATLANTA - Feb. 10, 2003 - LXE Inc., a leading manufacturer of rugged wireless products and solutions that improve the performance of supply-chain execution applications, today announced the introduction of the MX5, an ultra rugged, handheld computer running on the Windows CE operating system. This easy-to-use unit features a color TFT reflective screen for crystal clear viewing both indoors and outdoors, full alpha-numeric keyboard for simple data entry and retrieval, and an ergonomically designed vertical form factor for easy handling and operation. The MX5 can also be equipped with an internal, standard or long-range, 1D or 2D barcode scanner, or a high-resolution imager to facilitate data collection in a number of different scenarios.

The MX5 is ideal for traditional industrial and logistics applications as well as operation in ports where rain, salt, humidity, and fluctuating temperatures make for severe conditions. With its IP65 rating, the MX5 can withstand intense water spray and is totally protected against dust. The MX5, with its ultra-rugged light magnesium housing, is also designed to withstand multiple drops from over six feet and can operate in temperatures as low as -22° F (-30° C) with the optional internal heater.
