LXE Introduces the Intrinsically Safe MX1-IS Rugged Mobile Handheld Computer

The LXE MX1-IS computer is manufactured for use in the most extreme explosive environments where Intrinsically Safe equipment approval ratings are required

ATLANTA - November 25, 2002 - LXE Inc., a leading manufacturer of rugged wireless products and solutions that improve the performance of supply-chain execution applications, today announced the introduction of the MX1-IS, LXE's ultra-rugged Intrinsically Safe mobile handheld computer. Due to its broad Intrinsically Safe (I-Safe) approval rating, the MX1-IS can be used in almost any I-Safe environment, including environments where explosive material is always present (Division I Rating).

The MX1-IS has the same form factor and many of the same features as LXE's popular MX1 handheld. To simplify the data entry process, the unit can be ordered with either a short, long, or advanced long-range integrated scanner, and will be available with multiple keypad options including a 60-key alphanumeric keypad. The MX1-IS's productivity-improving power management system supports a full eight-hour shift.

The MX1-IS features an industry standard, highly reliable, 486 processor and a ROM-DOS operating system. The unit supports 900MHz or 2.4GHz (802.11b) radio options and numerous terminal emulation standards for easy integration with most Warehouse Management System applications.
