Hamilton Sundstrand's Applied Instrument Technologies Group Selects Headwall's Raman Explorer for New Raman Process Analyzer Product Line
Headwall's multi-channel, multi-spectrum Raman capabilities cited as key performance advantages
Fitchburg, MA Mar 1, 2006 Fitchburg, MA, March 1, 2006 - Headwall Photonics announced today that its Raman Explorer OEM product was selected by Hamilton Sundstrand's Applied Instrument Technologies (HS-AIT) group for use with the company's new RPM line of process analyzers. Utilizing Headwall's Raman Explorer as the spectral engine, HS-AIT has established new performance capabilities for in-line and at-line process monitoring instruments within the refining, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage industries. Mr. Joseph LaConte, General Manager of Hamilton Sundstrand's Applied Instrument Technologies unit, stated "The performance of the Raman Explorer yielded excellent results. This performance, coupled with the small size and robust design of the Raman Explorer, makes it an optimal OEM solution for our new line of process analyzers, the Raman-based RPM product line".
The Raman Explorer is based on Headwall's patented retro-reflective, concentric design built specifically for Raman measurement and analysis. Headwall's design innovation allows customers to apply high performance analytical Raman techniques to both commercial application areas such as industrial process monitoring and control as well as traditional laboratory environments where the multi- channel, multi-sensor design is well-suited. With excellent resolution and superior spectral band shape, the design achieves a signal-to-noise ratio up to 50 times better than other commercial Raman systems. The Raman Explorer architecture is very flexible in that OEM customers are able to utilize a range of different excitation lasers with the design to drive application-specific performance.
