Groxis Releases Web2.0 Application for Enterprise Search Management

GrokkerESM Integrates Content Federation, Powerful Text Mining, and Visual Search Capabilities for the Enterprise

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 16 - Groxis, the leader in visual search and federated content applications, announced today the release of GrokkerESM, a Web2.0 enterprise search management application. GrokkerESM provides businesses, libraries and content providers with a powerful combination of federated content access and topically organized visual search results for any type of information found online. With GrokkerESM, research-intensive organizations maximize the reach and value of their information assets and produce higher-quality, actionable research.

Content Federation Maximizes Value
At grokker.com, the ESM technology can be validated with live web searches conducted simultaneously across a growing number of high quality content sources such as the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Digital Library, Yahoo! (TM) search, the Amazon.com books catalog, and business news aggregated by Daypop.com. The commercial version GrokkerESM gives organizations the ability to dive deeper across a broader selection of specialty content sources and corporate portals, all from a single visual search interface.

"Organizations accumulate an overwhelming amount of business intelligence information today but much of it goes unused because of the difficulties posed by accessing it," said R.J. Pittman, President and CEO of Groxis. "By bringing together disparate content silos such as subscription content, market news, and proprietary enterprise data into a single application, Grokker transforms information overload into actionable research."

Sun Microsystems partnered with Groxis in 2004 and then licensed an advanced version of GrokkerESM, called SunLibrary Grokker, which provides federated access and visually organized search results for several different research sources including the IEEE Electronic Library, the EBSCOHost journals database and Sun's own internal email research repository.

"We've seen a marked increase in the use of our premium content and have heard that the visualization solution has provided a greater efficiency and time savings when conducting research," said Cindy Hill, SunLibrary Manager at Sun Microsystems. "Grokker is quickly becoming one of the first stops for our technical and engineering workers when they're looking for quality information because they know that they'll have the tool set to find what they need."

Web2.0 Application Means Fast Integration
GrokkerESM is a complete Web2.0-based solution that brings the software's dynamic visual search interface to any web browser by leveraging Ajax technology in the client that connects to Grokker's powerful new enterprise search management (ESM) web service.

"A Web2.0 enabled application allows us to serve a much broader audience across the enterprise and research institutions with significantly reduced cost of deployment and total cost of ownership when compared with traditional enterprise applications," said Howard Rosen, Vice President of Engineering for Groxis. "GrokkerESM was developed to ensure businesses can reliably be up and running with our advanced enterprise search technology in a matter of no time, and today we are delivering on that commitment," he added.
