Groxis and Thomson Gale Partner to Provide Innovative Search Solution

Global Leader in Content Publishing and Information Delivery Plans to Boost Search Functionality for Worldwide User Base

SAN FRANCISCO, April 16 -- Groxis, a pioneer in visual search and discovery, and Thomson Gale, a world leader in e-research and educational publishing, today announced that they have teamed to provide enhanced search capabilities to Thomson Gale's user base of K-12 schools and Public and Academic Libraries worldwide. In order to meet the growing demands of today's information seekers, Thomson Gale will leverage the technology of Groxis' flagship product, Grokker, to offer a powerful complement to their own robust aggregated content database search platform PowerSearch(TM).

Grokker is an innovative information management and discovery solution that improves the way research-intensive organizations access, explore, organize and share digital information. Grokker's core technology includes federated content access and integration, results clustering and dynamic filtering, unique visual exploration of many results within a single page and collaboration tools to easily share and exchange information with others.

"We're delighted to be partnering with Thomson Gale on this important marketplace innovation", said Groxis CEO, Brian Chadbourne. "Thomson Gale has unrivalled coverage of the library channel worldwide and we anticipate a very significant adoption rate for the Grokker discovery solution across their many millions of library users."

Thomson Gale will incorporate several of Grokker's key features into Thomson Gale PowerSearch(TM), providing additional functionality to this powerful content delivery platform. Included in this feature set is the ability to run a search on a collection of databases not currently on the PowerSearch platform -- including library catalogs and other vendor's reference databases. Best known for the accuracy, breadth and convenience of its data, addressing all types of information needs, Thomson Gale's partnership with Groxis provides enhanced usability to their users and is in- line with Thomson Gale's ongoing initiative to improve the way library users find, assimilate and manage information.

"Our customers have told us that they want better search capabilities out of their investment in our PowerSearch products," said Nader Qaimari, Thomson Gale's Senior Director of PowerSearch Programs, InfoTrac and Gale Virtual Reference Library. "We strive to provide our customers with the best content, platforms and search capabilities possible, which is why we've decided to partner with Groxis. Our customers can look forward to more robust and improved searching in our current PowerSearch and in PowerSearch Plus, a new product launching this summer."
