Original Press Release:

Multi-Tube Bundle Graphite Heat Exchanger

SGL CARBON Technic LLC announces the development of a new generation of graphite exchangers that utilize multiple bundles to improve heat transfer rates and simplify maintenance.

The Multi-Tube Bundle Exchanger, Model RM, allows the entire heat exchanger to operate in a countercurrent flow regime thereby reducing the required surface area for applications by up to 40% vs. traditional shell and tube technologies. Applications with close temperature approaches or even temperature crosses are easily handled in the RM design.

The RM's bundle modules can be easily removed for cleaning or inspection by maintenance personnel. A spare bundle can be stored for quick service or replacement.

Impervious graphite exchangers are used for heating and cooling corrosive chemicals such as Hydrochloric acid, Sulfuric acid, and phosphoric acid. Graphite exchangers can be found in the processes of chemical, steel pickling, fertilizer, mining, pigment production, pharmaceutical and fine chemical producers.
