Grafen Chemical Industries Co. Selects Angstron Materials Graphene for Polymer Nanocomposite EMI Application

DAYTON, Ohio — Grafen Chemical Industries Co. has selected Angstron Materials' graphene material for a polymer nanocomposite application for electromagnetic shielding material. The Ankara, Turkey-based company is using both pristine and oxidized graphene products from Angstron to commercialize its EMI product for full-scale production.

Grafen Chemical Industries (GCI) is a leader in the fabrication and application of carbon nanomaterials featuring electrical, mechanical, chemical and thermal properties. Grafen products are used for markets such as industrial organic electronics, high-performance materials and green chemistry. "We selected Angstron’s graphene because of the material's consistency and quality," says Ibrahim Mutlay, chief science officer for Grafen. "These graphene products also provide nano graphene platelets in a size range that is suitable for our project."  Tests are underway for this phase of the product’s development adds Mutlay.

Headquartered in Dayton, Ohio (U.S.) Angstron Materials is the world's largest producer of nano graphene platelets (also called NGPs) and the only manufacturer able to produce pristine graphene. Angstron offers six different graphene products, both oxide and pristine, in varying thicknesses and dimensions. The manufacturer also works with companies and researchers to select the right material, functionalize it and gain access to critical process efficiencies.  These steps dramatically reduce the risk associated with innovative product development.
