GN Develops Dedicated Electronic Hook Switch for Polycom Desktop Phones

New adapter enables office users to answer calls remotely and improves workplace productivity

ORLANDO, Fla., March 17 / / - GN US, Inc., the world leader in innovative headset solutions, today announced a dedicated Electronic Hook Switch (EHS) for Polycom's SoundPoint® IP desktop phones. The new EHS adapter allows professionals using a Jabra wireless headset from GN in conjunction with Polycom's VoIP desk phones to answer calls up to 300 feet away from their desk, instantly allowing users to experience the benefits of hands-free communication through improved productivity and the ability to answer calls remotely. Eliminating the need to be in your office to take calls, the device offers seamless integration with Polycom's desktop phones. The EHS adapter is available immediately from authorized GN resellers worldwide.

The EHS adapter is a plug-and-play solution that connects latest Polycom SoundPoint IP desktop phones to the award-winning Jabra GN9350 and Jabra GN9120 EHS wireless headsets. Once connected, all incoming calls can be handled directly from the headset of the Jabra base station. This improves productivity by enabling professionals to accept important calls while visiting a colleague's office, retrieving documents from the printer, sending a fax, or attending meetings.

"Improving productivity through increased mobility is critical in today's fast paced and dynamic working environments," said Chalan Aras, vice president of product marketing for Polycom's Voice Communications Solutions division. "Working with GN to create the EHS adapter reflects both our companies' commitment to delivering easy-to-use mobile communications solutions that help our customers get more out of their business day."

"Our EHS, developed exclusively for Polycom, is designed with the office worker in mind. It is easy to use, simple to install, as well as discreet, and stylish, and will help users make the most of IP communications," states Chris Briglin, VP, Strategic Alliances. "It is a small add-on to the complete cost of a Polycom phone but delivers a wealth of benefits including increased productivity, additional comfort and improved efficiency."

The EHS can be used in conjunction with the following Jabra wireless headsets:

o Jabra GN9350 - A wireless dual-function headset that enables users to
seamlessly switch between PC-based VoIP and a desk phone. It offers
conference call capabilities, 300 range, three wearing styles, 9 hour
