Glowpoint to Enable Live Interviews in HD for Professional Football Draft


Telepresence technology and services offer enhanced flexibility for broadcast networks and will be featured at this year's National Association of Broadcasters event

MURRAY HILL, N.J., -- Glowpoint, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: GLOW), a leading global provider of cloud-based, managed services for telepresence, video conferencing and collaboration, today announced that it will, as part of a multi-year agreement signed last year, be providing video managed services to enable live interviews to be conducted in HD during this year's football draft, which will be broadcast on the leading sports broadcasting network.

Glowpoint's services will support live, interactive programming on national television, featuring team pick reporting and interviews in high definition (HD), using telepresence-grade technology and services. The 2011 draft coverage begins April 28 and ends on April 30. Live interviews will be carried via Glowpoint's Open Video(TM) platform, which offers video users a seamless way to collaborate across a broad range of video technologies and on disparate carrier networks.

Glowpoint's services will enable interviews to be conducted at various team locations across the country, with the content distributed directly to the head-end broadcast studio for instantaneous delivery on-air.

Coverage will frequently include a split-screen format, demonstrating the ability to provide zero-latency, quality of service (QoS) connectivity in a live-to-air application of video conferencing technology.
