Düsseldorf - Demand for different syringe systems has increased vastly as a result of the increasingly complex and varied requirements posed by the healthcare market, especially physicians and patients, to the pharma and healthcare industry. Gerresheimer will be displaying its comprehensive range of syringe systems at Booth 11 of the PDA Parenteral Packaging Conference in Berlin, which is taking place at the Marriott Hotel on March 13 and 14, 2012.
Claudia Petersen, Director Business Development at Gerresheimer will be presenting a paper on the subject of Polymer Materials at the conference on March 13 at 1 p.m. Interest in plastic primary packaging materials for injectables is constantly rising. The first biotech, cosmetic and contrast media products in plastic primary packaging containers are already on the market. The presentation provides an overview of plastic material properties, market developments and trends as well as key market players and their product portfolios.
ClearJect(TM) brand syringes are transparent, pre-fillable plastic syringe systems made of cyclic olefin polymer (COP). They are extremely durable and have special barrier properties which make them ideal for sensitive parenteral medications and for the demanding fields of cytostatics and biopharmaceuticals. These syringe systems are sterilized as TasPack(TM) (Taisei Advanced Sterile Packaging) and supplied as ready-to-use products. The range was recently supplemented with back stops and finger flanges.
Gerresheimer manufactures glass pre-fillable syringes as bulk or ready-to-fill products. RTF®-brand ready-to-fill glass syringes can have multicolor printing, a laser-applied identity code and a tamper-evident closure system. They are also delivered to the pharma industry sterile, pre-assembled and, if desired, with baked-on siliconization.
