One Product Takes Gold; Two Take Silver
New York, NY - Three new products from General Tools & Instruments (General®) have received 2012 Dealer Design Awards for excellence in HVACR product design. An independent panel of 29 contractors served as judges for the contest, sponsored by The Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration News (The NEWS) and now in its ninth year. General's products were selected for the prestigious awards from among 81 entries based on: ease of installation/use, maintenance, application/repair and competitive difference.
"These awards give us a unique opportunity to recognize the outstanding research and development efforts that go into many of the products serving the HVACR industry, and the awards issue gives our readers an opportunity to read about innovative installation and service solutions," said The NEWS Publisher Mike Murphy.
General's Data Logging Hot Wire Anemometer/IR Thermometer (CIH20DL) received the Gold Award in the Testing & Monitoring Products category. The company's Energy Audit IR Thermometer/Scanner with Star Burst Laser Targeting (IRTC50) and USB Humidity-Temperature Data Logger with LCD and IR Thermometer (HT50) received Silver Awards in the Tools and Indoor Air Quality categories respectively.
"Our 90th year at General is proving to be one of our most successful ever in terms of industry and marketplace recognition for our product innovation," says General's VP of Strategic Marketing Peter Harper. "It's always our goal to introduce new products that make the job easier for contractors, professionals and DIYers alike, so we're extremely proud of winning three Dealer Design Awards since they signify we're reaching that goal."
General's products and the other award winners were featured in the July 9, 2012 issue of The NEWS, which is distributed nationally to more than 33,000 HVACR contractors, wholesalers and other industry professionals.
