New Motor Gearheads Offer Precise Speed Reduction, Stainless Steel Construction for Long Life, High Quality Gears for Low Backlash

Available in standard Size 5, 8, and 10 versions as well as customized designs

NORRISTOWN, PA -Transicoil, a Division of Horizon Aerospace LLC, has released a new line of Size 5, 8, and 10 gearheads with thread mounts compatible with its brushless dc motors. The gearheads feature all stainless steel construction for high corrosion resistance and low maintenance operation. Precise design and production of the gears and housings minimize backlash and reduce audible noise. The gearheads use high quality, stainless steel ball bearings.

The standard gearheads are available in 1 or 2 stages. Standard reduction ratios are available from 4:1 to 49:1 with typical efficiencies ranging from 87% to 92%. Custom reduction ratios are also available upon request.

The gearheads offer an excellent way to deliver higher torque in more designer-friendly speed ranges. They are lightweight and easily integrated with Transicoil's motors into motion systems. Designed to meet the rugged requirements of medical and military designs, these gearheads provide many advantages in both commercial and aerospace applications.

Applications for the gearheads include surgical tools, medical devices, military actuators, aerospace actuators, pick-and-place devices, robotics, semiconductor machines, automated assembly tools, positioning systems, inspection devices, down-well actuators, and many more.

Transicoil has over 50 years experience as a developer and producer of fractional horsepower dc motors; sensing and position feedback devices such as resolvers, synchros, LVDTs, RVDTs, and RVRTs; integrated assemblies; and industrial pressure transducers, inclinometers, and signal conditioners.
