GDF SUEZ Offers VPower(TM) to Help Commercial and Industrial Customers Manage Electricity Consumption and Cost

HOUSTON – Commercial and industrial customers can now monitor their energy usage, minimize their peaks, and reduce distribution charges through VPower™, a simple set of tools available from GDF SUEZ Energy Resources NA.  Interested customers can learn more via a national webinar hosted by GDF SUEZ Energy Resources called Reducing Commodity Costs by Integrating Load Analytics.

The webinar, led by Eric Alam, Executive Vice President of Viridity Energy, who developed VPower™, covers the new web-based demand response tools that provide greater price transparency to facilitate improved decision making, strategies for managing load volatility, and opportunities to create new revenue and demand-side savings.  The full presentation is available to view to the right.

J.D. Burrows, Vice President of Marketing at GDF SUEZ Energy Resources, said the presentation underscores GDF SUEZ Energy Resource's commitment to working with industry experts to deliver the insight energy buyers need to build customized load management strategies.

"Some companies have taken advantage of these opportunities to save, but for anyone who hasn't, this presentation is definitely something to view," explained Burrows.  "Buyers can use VPower™, which doesn't require complex building system controls or difficult interfaces, to build customized programs aimed at mitigating peak costs, decreasing capital expenditures, and limiting greenhouse gas emissions. We think there's a lot of value in that, and we're excited to introduce this product to our customers."

Burrows added that GDF SUEZ Energy Resources plans to distribute this solution to any interested customer over 1MW in aggregate demand.  The VPower™ suite combines usage, pricing, and system data to show energy managers how to control their consumption and save money.  While the exact amount of savings depends on the amount of load curtailed by the customer, access to the information is free.  GDF SUEZ Energy Resources believes that informed energy consumers make up an important part of the energy network.

Eric Alam has more than 25 years of experience leading and managing businesses in the energy industry.  He is skilled in sales force leadership and development, strategic business planning, financial and physical energy product development, trade and risk management, software sales and implementation, and merger and asset integration. His career has focused on end-use sales with a particular emphasis on helping large customers optimize their position in the energy market.
