Gate Drive Optocoupler features undervoltage lockout.

Press Release Summary:

Model ACNW3190 high output current gate drive optocoupler includes undervoltage lockout (UVLO) to prevent insufficient gate voltage from turning on IGBT and leading to power loss across it. Featuring common mode rejection rate of 15 kV/µs at 1,500 V, unit supports temperatures up to 100°C at maximum 5.0 A output current level. Device is available in 8-pin package and in widebody packaging with 10 mm creepage and clearance.

Avago Technologies Delivers Industry's First Gate Drive Optocoupler to Combine Industry High Output Peak Current with Under Voltage Lock Out

Highly Integrated Solution Minimizes PCB Space and Delivers High Performance

SAN JOSE, Calif., November 27, 2007 -- Avago Technologies today announced an industry-high output current gate drive optocoupler with under voltage lockout (UVLO). The company is a leading supplier of analog interface components for communications, industrial and consumer applications. By combining optocoupler technology with a 5.0A power transistor into a single 8-pin package, Avago's ACNW3190 delivers a high output current gate optocoupler driver which minimizes PCB space, offers component savings to lower design costs and provides high CMR noise isolation.

Ideal for AC/DC motor drives, industrial inverters and inverter controller home appliances, the ACNW3190 adds UVLO to prevent insufficient gate voltage from turning on the IGBT and lead to power loss across it. The optocoupler is also optimized for high power applications by offering good noise immunity with superior common mode rejection rate of 15kV/µs at 1500V. Additionally, Avago's ACNW3190 supports temperatures up to 100°C at the maximum 5.0A output current level.

"Avago has a comprehensive portfolio of gate driver optocouplers with a wide range of output current, including integrated protection features. Today, we are proud to introduce the industry's first 5.0A output current into the gate driver optocoupler family," said Chong Tze Siong, vice president and general manager for Avago Technologies' Isolation Products Division. "Avago will continue to provide new innovative products to meet future industry demand."

The highly integrated ACNW3190 is available in an easy-to-use 8-pin package and in a widebody packaging with 10 mm creepage and clearance. The product satisfies all major opto-isolation safety standards, such as UL, CSA, IEC/EN/DIN EN 60747-5-2.

U.S. Pricing and Availability
Avago's ACNW3190 will be available through Avago's direct sales channel and worldwide distribution partners. It will be priced at $2.03 in 10,000-piece quantities.
