Guden Offers Gas Springs That Lock For Safety

Ronkonkoma, NY - The H. A. Guden Co., Inc. announced the latest addition to their GGS Gas Spring product line, the GGS-SafeLock.

GGS-SafeLock Gas Springs eliminate the need for separate locking rods in heavy lift-assist applications. They automatically lock in place when fully extended, protecting the operator from potential injury in the unlikely event of gas spring failure through overload or misuse. The GGS-SafeLock is manually released by applying thumb pressure to the locking shroud, allowing the gas spring to compress in a controlled manner.

Guden offers four sizes, with strokes of 5, 6, 7 and 10 inches, and corresponding extended lengths of 15.25, 17, 19.63 and 27.8 inches. Each size can be standard ordered with the P1 force set to 20, 30, 60, 90 or 120 lbs. The ECL23 is available from stock in 60 and 90 lb pressures. Steel zinc-plated or neoprene plastic end fittings are available along with a large variety of mounting brackets.

GGS-SafeLock Gas Springs are specifically constructed for severe, heavy-duty applications, such as trucks, construction machinery, switchgear and agricultural equipment. They can be used in pairs or in conjunction with a standard GGS-X.
