Landoll Intros New Gas-Powered Bendi(TM) Forklift

MARYSVILLE, KS - Landoll Corporation has designed an all-new gas-powered version of its popular electric-powered narrow aisle Bendi Series III Forklift Truck. The company, based in Marysville, Kansas, introduced the new Bendi B40IC Forklift during its fall dealer meeting at the KCI Expo Center adjacent to Missouri's Kansas City International Airport.

This latest addition to Landoll's fleet of narrow aisle forklift trucks features a GM Vortec® 3000 internal combustion engine built for LP gas. The engine is readily accessible under the base of the insulated driver's seat. The user-friendly design of the battery-powered Bendi Forklift has been carried over to the new machine. All systems have been laid out for easy control, checks, and maintenance. The cockpit has a full complement of monitoring gauges as well as lights that signal hydraulic system filter change and low fuel. Refilling or removing and replacing the rear-mounted LP tank is fast and easy. The 3.0-liter four-cylinder engine has a Zenith electronic fuel injection system, turns out 67 horsepower at 2400 rpm, and meets or exceeds emission standards for its vehicle class in all 50 states.

Engineered to retain the legendary narrow aisle maneuverability of the battery-powered Bendi, the new model incorporates 180-degree steering and front-end articulation plus rear-wheel drive that gives the Bendi line excellent stability, traction, and control even in the full-turn position. Independently driven rear wheels contribute to the gas-powered unit's agility. Computer-controlled directly driven tandem-mounted hydraulic pumps operate individual hydrostatic motors at each rear wheel. In tight quarters, the independent rear wheels are powered to rotate in opposite directions to assist in turning. Automatic braking and acceleration can be programmed into the drive system for ease of operation and added safety.

Despite its impressive power and 4,000-lb load capacity, the Bendi B40IC Forklift measures just 48" wide. Like its electric counterpart, it can carry loads from truck or dock to rack or factory floor without staging. It can climb 15% grades, turn in 8-foot intersecting aisles, and stack 48" x 40" loads in aisles as narrow as 6½ feet. Top forward speed is 10 mph. Lift speed is 90 fpm empty and 70 fpm loaded. The B40IC model can be equipped with an 18' triple mast and 23' quad mast. Both have lowered heights to allow the Bendi B40IC Forklift to enter a wide range of transport trailers.

The two other models in Landoll's forklift line, the Bendi(TM) Series III and PivotMast® Series II Narrow Aisle Lift Trucks, also feature four-wheel stability for exceptional load capacities. Both offer multi-stage masts with lift heights up to 26'. Capacities range from 2,500 to 4,500 lbs. The Bendi articulating front end rotates a full 180° for working in 6' aisles. The PivotMast can store 48" x 40" loads in 56" aisles and turn its mast 90° to the right while moving straight ahead to carry and stack long loads sideways.
