Gas/Fire Safety System Will Customize to Any Size

(MILFORD, OH) - A line of modular, customizable control systems for remote fire and gas detectors is offered by Crowcon. Gasmonitor Plus uses industry-standard 19-inch rack enclosures, allowing multiple units to be stacked, and providing as many detector channels and control outputs as the user requires. Rack enclosures also allow easy integration with other rack-mounted systems already on site.

Each channel has its own removable control card, with a single rack taking up to 16 cards. LED bar graphs on the cards show at a glance the gas level or fire status of every detector in the system. Cards also have individual fault warnings, while individual alarm inhibitors allow uninterrupted operation of the remaining channels during maintenance checks on parts of the system.

As well as the control cards, each rack has a large display module which scrolls through the channel readings, as well as indicating common fault and alarm conditions. On-site calibration and configuration by a single operator is possible using the module's front-facing RS232 serial port.

For communication with external systems, each channel has a 4-20 mA analogue output. In the event of a hazard being detected, Gasmonitor Plus offers three alarm levels per channel. To trigger external devices such as fans, shut-off valves and automatic doors, up to 84 output relays are provided by each rack, including 16 voted relays which are user-configurable via the PC interface. Dedicated alarm drives are provided for audiovisual warning signals.
