Fused Panelboard and Fuse help achieve code compliance.

Press Release Summary:

To help achieve NEC® compliance, UL67 listed Fused Coordination Panelboard provides combination rated circuit breaker and fuse for branch circuit protection that ensures fuses will open only on short circuits. FCP offers 2:1 coordination ratio with upstream Amp-Trap 2000 fuses and provides default short circuit current rating of 200 kA. With plug-in retrofit to existing MV fuses, Medium Voltage Controllable Fuse delivers arc flash protection while minimizing installation downtime.

Original Press Release:

Mersen To Showcase Two Important Additions To Its Line of Rockwell Encompass® Program Products During Automation Fair, November 18-19, 2015

NEWBURYPORT, MA – Mersen will feature two new additions to its Encompass Program portfolio, the Fused Coordination Panelboard and the Medium Voltage Controllable Fuse, at the Rockwell Automation Fair, booth #413, November 18-19, 2015, in Chicago, IL.

Selective Coordination is required in several locations as defined in the National Electrical Code® (NEC) and Mersen’s Fused Coordination Panelboard (FCP) can simplify the process in achieving code compliance for designers by providing a combination rated circuit breaker and fuse for branch circuit protection that ensures fuses will open only on short-circuits and the circuit breaker can easily be reset on common overloads.

Mersen’s FCP provides a simple 2:1 coordination ratio with upstream Amp-Trap 2000 fuses, eliminating the need for a costly short circuit current study. Panels are provided with a default short circuit current rating (SCCR) of 200kA and provide overcurrent protection through a combination of a circuit breaker and a fuse. Mersen’s FCP is a UL67 listed panelboard that utilizes commonly available class CC and J fuses.

Also on display will be the next step in fuse technology: an intelligent, controllable fuse for medium voltage applications. Mersen’s Medium Voltage Controllable Fuse (MVCF) provides arc flash protection with a plug-in retrofit to existing MV fuses at a low total cost and minimal installation downtime and ownership maintenance.

Mersen developed the Medium Voltage Controllable Fuse in response to OSHA Code 29 CFR-1910 Subpart S, requiring employers to identify and analyze arc-flash hazards and provide adequate personal protective equipment (PPE). If you have an application question or are interested in the latest technology solutions, visit Mersen at booth # 413 where we will have technical experts on hand to discuss your unique application challenge

In addition to these two new products, Mersen will also display a number of other products from its Encompass Product portfolio. These innovative product solutions range from traditional products for Oil and Gas industries to new technology solutions for safer and more reliable solar installations to cooling solutions featuring a comprehensive range of heatsinks, thermal management to help cool your power electronics applications.

If you are interested in the latest technology solutions, or if you have an application challenge, we would love to talk to you at Mersen booth # 413.
