Full-Service Staffing Firm Increases Growth with VCG's WebPAS

Recruiting software with integrated Web portal helps Cambridge Professional Group maintain 30 percent annual growth

September 26, 2006 -- Cambridge Professional Group has increased revenue by 600 percent since the Atlanta-based search and staffing company was acquired by a private equity group in 1999. President Steve Sullivan said there have been several catalysts for revenue growth from $2 to $12 million.

Among the drivers for this strong growth has been the expansion into new lines of business. Cambridge, one of the oldest legal staffing firms in the Atlanta area, has expanded to become a full-service staffing firm with divisions in legal, IT and accounting/finance. Cambridge does 25 percent of its business based on referrals and has been honored as one of the "Top 25 Staffing Firms" by the Atlanta Business Chronicle. They have benefited from low staff employee turnover with an average tenure of nine years, well above industry norms.

But Sullivan attributes much of Cambridge's success to VCG's WebPAS®, a comprehensive software solution that streamlines and optimizes the sales and recruiting process.

"One of the driving reasons we have been able to establish a 30 percent growth rate each year is because of WebPAS and WebPAS WorldLink®," said Sullivan.

"We tried to implement our legacy software, but there were just too many issues - it didn't work," said Sullivan. After an extensive evaluation of the leading search and staffing software companies, Sullivan and his management team selected WebPAS and WebPAS WorldLink.

"WebPAS and WebPAS WorldLink's functionality was the best fit for our needs - both in staffing and in placement," said Sullivan. "With VCG's solution, we realized our staff would see tremendous productivity gains. For example, we now have numerous candidates who apply through WebPAS WorldLink daily."

WebPAS WorldLink has significantly enhanced Cambridge's Web presence and streamlined candidate processing. WebPAS WorldLink enables recruiters to seamlessly post jobs to Cambridge's Web site. Candidates can register, search and apply for jobs online. Candidate information that is submitted then becomes a WebPAS database record for review and matching. WebPAS' powerful built-in auto-matching process enables the user to match a candidate to a job order, as well as job orders to candidates.

Sullivan said WebPAS' resume harvesting and candidate processing functions have either reduced or eliminated most manual efforts. They enable recruiters to focus on revenue-generating activities -- thereby accelerating their entire recruiting process.

"One of the most important benefits is the increased productivity of our staff through sharing of information and using the system in all our processes," Sullivan said. "In the past, this had been almost completely manual. For example, it used to take 30 minutes to present a candidate to a client. With WebPAS, it takes about one minute through an automated process."

That's given Cambridge's staff, which includes more than 20 recruiters, more time to focus on revenue generation. The transition to a state-of-the-art VCG solution was easy, Sullivan said, despite the paradigm shift from manual to automated processes. He attributes the rapid adoption to WebPAS' intuitive user interface and easy-to-use functionality.

There was positive staff feedback from the start, which is important to Sullivan and his management team because a critical success factor for Cambridge is to retain good employees by responding to their needs.

Sullivan said VCG has lived up to its reputation for providing the best customer support in the industry. VCG is the only staffing and recruiting software company that had an independent research firm survey its customers. They rate VCG support as "excellent," with a 96 percent approval rating.

"Our entire group thinks highly of the support team. They always take care of the problems and no issue is ever lost," said Sullivan, "This reliability helps us sustain a level of operating performance that contributes to our growth."

With WebPAS and WebPAS WorldLink powering the drive for even greater success, Cambridge is poised for continued growth. Sullivan plans to grow revenue in Atlanta another 30 percent this year while expanding the business into Washington, DC, where a new office will be opening in September.
