PortBox2, as a RS-232 and RS-485 Ethernet convertor, offers, unlike other devices available on the market, a full RS-232 serial port (9 conductors). The full serial port support is not common in competitive products, it ensures maximum compatibility and user comfort. PortBox2 can be connected to a PC also via LAN. If HW VSP multiport software (available for free with PortBox2) is then installed on a user’s Windows PC, it creates a virtual serial port, working as if the device was connected directly to the PC. The virtual serial port driver can work on background (NT service) and therefore you can use it even in MS Windows server. HW VSP Multiport Software supports connecting up to 100 virtual serial ports to a PC.
PortBox 2 supports 9-bit communication and it can be configured via internet. Two PortBox units can also work in Box-2-Box mode and prolong the serial port without a need of installing any software.
