Frost & Sullivan Commends Power Distribution's Expanding and Comprehensive Product Line in the Static Transfer Switch Market

(Palo Alto, Calif. - July 17, 2007) - Frost & Sullivan selected Power Distribution, Inc. (PDI) as the recipient of the 2007 North American Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Differentiation Innovation for introducing the WaveStar(TM) communications package in the static transfer switch market. PDI's modern production and test facilities provide customized, quality products and solutions.

PDI has developed a strong brand name and is a global market player, mainly through the development of innovative technologies. PDI has grown rapidly in industries such as financial institutions, banking and insurance, telecommunication, as well as the federal government.

The company is focusing on improving its growth rates and customer service management, developing new products, and making more strategic acquisitions.

"By continuously monitoring power quality, the WaveStar(TM) communication package has the ability to automatically transfer to an alternate source of power without interruption of power to the sensitive critical loads," says Frost & Sullivan Industry Manager Vishal Sapru. "With a sense and transfer time of less than 4 ms, the WaveStar(TM) represents the highest performance power switching solution available."

The WaveStar(TM) communication package also allows the data center manager to create a hub for all downstream branch circuit-monitoring devices with the switch - they can all be seen through the monitor of the Wavestar(TM). This patent pending technology can also be used to minimize the transformer inrush on upstream devices by selecting an algorithm called volt second synchronization (VSS).

The solution increases the overall reliability and availability of power to facilities by providing instantaneous access to redundant sources of power, enabling on-line maintenance of upstream equipment, and showing real-time wave form captures on LED screens. It also prevents cross connection of sources during transfer and eliminates the possibility of cross current between sources and offers triple redundant power supplies, a redundant operator interface panel, and a front access design for installation and maintenance

PDI's strategies include becoming a one-stop shop for all offerings in the market by extending its product line to include products from static transfer switches to power distribution units. PDI's ability to cross-sell and up-sell its complete line of products to existing customers not only provides it with a ready-made market, but also makes business simpler for its customers.

"In addition to developing and implementing the program, PDI closely monitors all customer feedback, acts on suggestions, as well as incorporates requested features and benefits into its products and services," notes Sapru. "PDI also offers order inquiries and emergency assistance, technical and application product support, warranties, power protection programs, as well as service upgrades."
